I thought I would let all Members know that Robert has regrettably decided that for personal reasons, but also because he believes that it is in the best interests of WEGC, to resign from WEGC.
This will be effective from the 31st May.
Robert has made a tremendous contribution to the Club, during his time with us, much of it unseen by many, and he will be greatly missed, especially by those who have worked closely with him.
He was instrumental in setting up, and running the GMS Company which has generated significant income to the Club, however, given Robert’s decision to leave, along with the increasing costs of fertilizer, feed, diesel etc, we have reviewed the arrangement and concluded that WEGC will no longer be able to effectively support the maintenance of the two Golf Clubs under the GMS banner.
Robert has always been the point of contact with both Clubs and he has agreed that he will take over the contracts in his own name from the 1st June.
Robert has thanked the Directors and Members for their support over the years and wishes the Club every success in the future.
I personally would like to thank Robert, who I have worked closely with over the last few years, for the total support and dedication he has shown to myself and the Club.
I am sure you will all join me in wishing him well for the future.

Club Chairman
